Configure Outlook Express Message Rules

Here are the steps needed to set up Outlook Express to automatically direct your webmail to it's own folder.

  1. On the menu bar, click "Tools", mouse over "Message rules"
  2. Click on "Mail"
  3. Next click "New"
  4. Check "Where the to line contains people"
  5. Click on the blue text in the third window and enter your webmail address
  6. In the second window check "Move it to the specified folder"
  7. Give the rule a name so you can refer to it later
  8. Click "OK" and you are back at the "Message Rules" dialogue box
  9. Click on the blue text "specified", then you can create and name a new folder
  10. Click "OK" in this dialogue
  11. Highlight the rule you just created and click "Copy"
  12. Highlight the copy of the rule and click "Modify"
  13. Uncheck the option in the second window
  14. Check the option "Delete from Server" instead
  15. Click "OK" for this dialogue and the "Message Rules" dialogue
  16. Test by sending an email from your default address to your webmail address
